The '66 quarter window treatment is an interesting idea but doesn't quite work, probably due to the body lines being slightly different.  Shelby himself wanted to continue with the quarter windows into the '67 model year but decided instead to go with the upper "air extracters" as they represented greater product identification with the previous year's LeMans winning GT40s.
