1969 Talladega, 1 of 754. Cousin to the Mercury Cycloe Spoiler II, Ford's entry into the NASCAR Aero Wars was their answer to the Dodge Charger 500. These cars were fast and they won a lot of races in 1969 (26 to be exact), even Richard Petty was driving one. The standard drive train was the 428CJ with a heavy duty C6 transmission (column shift). Also standard was an engine oil cooler, a power steering oil cooler, special offset rear shocks, and a 3.25:1 Ford 9 inch 31 spline nodular open rear end. |
