CONTRACT ENGINEERING

DESIGN ENGINEERING

  • Airframe Modifications
  • Interior Modifications
We have experience with designing both airframe and interior modifications.  We design your modification to meet your exact specifications.  All of our design work is done on a 3-D solid modeling CAD system, assuring that the customer receives the correct solution without the expense of constructing costly prototypes.  Multiple design options can be presented to customer for his selection and approval.  To find out more about the solid modeling design process, click here:  [Solid Modeling].

LIAISON ENGINEERING

  • On-site interface between the aircraft, production, and engineering
Aircraft modifications may be have to be accomplished at a location other than one that is nearby to the project management team, the designers, or the customer.  Under these conditions it often necessary to have an engineer familiar with the project pay frequent visits to the job site.  This assures that any problems that may come about are fully communicated to all parties connected with the project and that issues are resolved in a timely manner with minimal impact on the project schedule.

PRODUCT DESIGN

  • Product engineering and documentation
Parts can be engineered for a specific requirement as a new product or they can be reversed engineered.  We have experiance doing both.  As part of the design process, we produce whatever documentation (engineering drawings, work instructions, test plans and instructions, etc.) is required to bring a product to production.  The design work is done on our 3-D solid modeling CAD system.  To find out more about the solid modeling design process, click here:  [Solid Modeling].

  • Drafting Standards Manual
Sets forth the standards used to produce engineering drawings.

  • Manufacturing and Quality Assurance Process Manual
Company wide manual that defines the manufacturing processes for products and goods and the methods used to assure the quality of those processes and goods.  Addresses all personnel and departments from the top down and assigns general responsibilities and authorities to individuals and departments.

  • Designated Alteration Station Procedures Manual
Defines the processes and procedures used by the Designated Alteration Stations (DAS) to certify aircraft modifications.  Written in accordance with current FAA advisory material for Designated Alteration Stations.  This is a FAA approved manual and is required to operate the DAS.

  • FIS / TSO Manuals
Manuals that define the processes and procedures to assure the quality of parts produced under FAA PMA or TSOA.  These manuals are accepted by the FAA and are written in accordance with the latest FAA guidance material.  For a more detailed look at the requirements for the FIS click here:  [FAA PMA FIS].  The rergulatory requirements for PMA and TSOA can be found here:  Title 14 CFR §21 Subpart K and here Title 14 CFR §21 Subpart O.
